This is the result of capitalist right wing ideology of BJP. Modi's BJP worked on Facist project in the first phase. This is the second phase of promoting money bags who are filling the BJP coffers and ranks. Kankaria is the test case for them, if we don't speakout now everything will be privatised in the benifit of monied, madmast and morbid middleclass.

Water is the scarsest resource. We Gujaratis have been supporter of Narmada Dam, which diverted waters to big cities, elite resi. Societies, rich farmers and waterparks. We've supported Sabarmati Riverfront as well, which is sure to go the Kankaria way, we are fascinated by Rs 50,000/- crore project of Kalpsar. Project-Project everywhere but water nowhere!

So, you see Urvish, matra sarkare j nahi praja e pan magajne tala marya che!

I fully support entrace fee for Kankaria so that place is visitable. I am OK if entrance fee is reduced from Rs. 10/- to Rs. 5/- but entrance fee is necessary to keep out beggars and anti-social elements.

  5. We all here love Kankaria, but is Kankaria aware of it? Perhaps not.

Long distance love from Hutheesingh is intellectually stimulating but physically frustrating. Kankaria needs prensence at all the entrances, during this moment of agitation, which we do not have, especially if the meeting place is changed from Ambubhai Purani Gymnasium to Pushpakunj Gate.

The movement has to reach where it matters and not obligatorily through "sheri-nataks",nor with childish rhetoric of breaking the gates open.

I do not imply that without having enough numerical strength, one must not protest for what he or she thinks is unfair. On the very contrary, being alone and expressing our displeasure at percieved or real injustice is the symbol of high moral courage.

I only mean that the movement should be more inclusive by making directly affected people aware of their loss. We should work to acheive this end. If we can not, we should have either honesty to leave the issue deliberately a la Gandhiji after "Chauri-chaura" or the patience to wait for an elected body of councillors to liberate Kankaria from it's present plight.
