દૂરદર્શન અને ‘દૃષ્ટિકોણ’
છેલ્લા થોડા મહિનાથી ગુજરાતી દૂરદર્શન (ચેનલ ૧૧) ઉર્ફે ગિરનાર ચેનલ પર, શનિવારે સાંજે ૭:૩૦ વાગ્યે એક કાર્યક્રમ આવે છેઃ ‘દૃષ્ટિકોણ’. તેનાં નિર્માત્રી છે રૂપા મહેતા. વર્ષોથી દૂરદર્શન સાથે સંકળાયેલાં રૂપાબહેન- ડૉ.રૂપા મહેતા- એમના સ્પષ્ટ વિચારો માટે જાણીતાં છે.
યોગાનુયોગે દોઢેક વર્ષથી ‘ગુજરાત સમાચાર’માં દર મંગળવારે આવતી મારી કોલમનું નામ પણ ‘દૃષ્ટિકોણ’ છે.
વઘુ એક યોગાનુયોગે, રૂપાબહેનના આમંત્રણથી દૂરદર્શન પરના ટોક શો ‘દૃષ્ટિકોણ’નું સંચાલન ઘણી વાર મારે કરવાનું આવે છે.
છેલ્લા બે-ત્રણ મહિનાથી તો લગભગ દર અઠવાડિયે. એમાં સાચર કમિટીના અહેવાલથી માંડીને અંધશ્રદ્ધાના નામે છેતરપીંડી, મહાગુજરાતનાં પચાસ વર્ષ, વિનય-ચારૂલનાં જાગૃતિગીતો, પચાસ વર્ષમાં ગુજરાતનું દલિત સાહિત્ય જેવા અનેક વિષયો આવરી લેવામાં આવે છે. આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ટીવી પરના છપાઇ ગયેલા ચહેરા સિવાયના બીજા, પોતપોતાના વિષયના અધિકારી લોકોને જોવા-સાંભળવા મળે છે, તે ખાસ નોંધવું જોઇએ. કાર્યક્રમમાં મારી ભૂમિકા મારી પદ્ધતિ પ્રમાણેની- છવાઇ ન જવા માગતા સંચાલકની અને અમુક અંશે ચર્ચામાં સહભાગિતાની- છે, એટલે શો કરવાનું ગમે છે.
રસ ધરાવતા મિત્રો મન થાય તો કાર્યક્રમ જોઇ શકે છે, પ્રતિભાવો આપી શકે છે અને શનિવારે સાંજે સાડા સાત વાગ્યે વઘુ સારાં કામ કરવા હોય તો પણ, કોઇ જોરજુલમી નથીઃ-) આ ચેનલ ગુજરાત બહાર, મુંબઇ અને બીજા વિસ્તારોમાં પણ દેખાય છે, એવી રૂપાબહેને ખાતરી આપી છે.
આવતી કાલના કાર્યક્રમમાં શિક્ષણના ખાનગીકરણ અંગે ગુજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠના કુલનાયક સુદર્શન આયંગાર અને ગુજરાત યુનિવર્સિટીના ભૂતપૂર્વ કુલપતિ પ્રો.કે.એસ.શાસ્ત્રી સાથેની ચર્ચા છે.

it is again a coincidence that i happen to know both roopa mehta and urvish kothari personally and i also can vouch for their progressive 'drishtikona' in their respective roles as producer and anchor of the programme series called 'drishtikona'.
ReplyDeletei have had an opportunity to take part in one such programme on gujarati dalit literature with chandu maheriya and suman shah as other participants and i found urvish's questionnaire
doing justice to the topic of discussion.
i enjoy his informative and educative column and blog - notwithstanding occasional dissent.

privatisation of education and its inevitable fall-out i.e. commercialisation of education is a big tragedy poor people of gujarat are struck with. but i could not find its sufficient expression in 'drishtikon ' programme.
ReplyDeletethe arguement that the state is unable to allocate adequate financial resources does not hold good, for people know that it is in fact nothing but mismanagement of funds and diversion of state resources to other non-priority areas. for example, people know of the great waste of public money on publicity tamashas being organised every other day to glorify the ruler of the day. and billions to beautifty the cities to make them hongkongs and singapores.
i didn't see the burning concern for the poor man who was suppossed to be the gandhian yardstick for implementation of any scheme, and in this case the most essential and top-most priority called 'free and universal education' guaranteed by the constitution of our 'welfare state'.
frankly, i should not expect from prof. shastri to plead much for the poor but i am certainly disappointed by the gandhian vice chancellor dr sudarshan who played shy in speaking out loud and clear that education must reach 'unto this last' and privatisation is a sure way to deny it to the poor and the maginalised, the depraved and the downtrodden.
a third 'drishtikona' like activist-advocate girish patel's was very much needed in this panel to prove the fact what a big tragedy the privatisation of education has wrought on the resourceless people.
