શનિદેવનો કોપ ઉર્ફે ‘ગાઉનસુંદરીનો ઘરસંસાર’
જૂની ફિલ્મોમાં ને નવલકથાઓમાં આવાં બેવડાં શીર્ષક આવતાં હતાં. એ શૈલીને અંજલી તરીકે મૂકાયેલા આ મથાળામાં ‘ગાઉનસુંદરીનો ઘરસંસાર’ બીરેન (કોઠારી)ની જૂની મસ્તી છે. વર્ષો પહેલાં મહેમદાવાદમાં મહિલાઓ દિવસના કોઇ પણ સમયે નાઇટગાઉન પહેરીને વિચરવા નીકળી પડે ત્યારે - નાઇટગાઉન સાથે સંકળાયેલા શિષ્ટતા અને સભ્યતાના પ્રશ્નોને કારણે- બીરેનને બહુ ચીડ ચડતી. (આ બાબતને ગરીબી સાથે કશો સંબંધ નથી, એ પણ ત્યારે સ્પષ્ટ હતું.) એ ખીજ સભ્યતાપૂર્વક કાઢવા તેણે સરસ્વતીચંદ્રની ગુણસુંદરીની તરાહ પર ‘ગાઉનસુંદરીનો ઘરસંસાર’ જેવો શબ્દપ્રયોગ ચલણી કર્યો હતો.
એ વખતે અમને એમ કે ફક્ત મહેમદાવાદમાં જ આવું હશે. પછી ખબર પડી કે ગાઉનસુંદરીઓની વસ્તી અને તેમનો ઉપાડો વ્યાપક છે. તેનો તાજો- ૨૦૦૯નો- નમૂનો છે મણિનગર (પૂર્વ)માં સ્ટેશનથી જશોદાનગર ચોકડી તરફ જવાના રસ્તે આવેલું આ મંદીર. 
ધાર્મિક મલ્ટીપ્લેક્સ જેવા અનેક ભગવાનોના ‘સ્ક્રીન’ ધરાવતા આ મંદીરની બહાર સ્પષ્ટ ચેતવણી લખવામાં આવી છે કે માતાજીના મંદીરમાં ગાઉન પહેરીને પ્રવેશ કરવો નહીં. આ મંદીરમાં ગાઉનસુંદરીઓનું એવું તે કેવું આક્રમણ હશે કે શરમ મૂકીને મંદીરવાળાએ આવી નોટીસ મૂકવી પડી!

ReplyDeletewit, humour and satire are urvish's special tools of expresion, and they are, it seems, employed not to pass on an immediate judgement on some ridiculos reality/issue but to attract people's reflection, introspection and readjust their behaviour on their own.

ReplyDeleteઆ વાતમાં સમજ ન પડી. વસ્તી તો જાણે સમજ્યા પણ ઉપાડાનો સંદર્ભ ન સમજાયો. એ પછી એ વિશે થોડી ચર્ચા થઇ શકે, કેમ કે અસંમત થવાનું મન થાય છે.
Mera Gaooon, Mera God : રેશમી ગાઉન પહેર્યો હોય તો આ મંદિરમાં જવાય? સીવ્યા વગરના ગાઉન ને પણ અપવાદમાં ગણવા જોઈએને? નાઈટ ગાઉન જેવા જ પૂજા ગાઉન બજારમાં મળતા હોય તો?

ReplyDeleteYour labour and point is genuine for the people to open their eye (if they have closed them) but, I think this comes under personal morale and thinking which cannot be planted from outside, it should come from within...you can add many subjects and pointers in this, like woman presenting not so nicely while working at home or coming out of home...but as I said, this comes under self descipline and this one costly important vertue we lack in India!
Anyway, thnx and keep up your tempo..wish you success.Amen
