Urvish, Ironically this post has come after UR digital tech. post which gives me mixed feeling of pain and humour. Can't our Govt. agencies think of better updated tools to eliminate, torture to the poor subbordinates of 'babu'? If he needs shelter then he can get umbrella fixed to a pipe, right? Using latest equipment would surely reduce man-power usage but then, it will give them to utilize them for betterment of work too.
    Thnx for the post.

  2. you are very right Narendrabhai, mechanization and automation can help a lot in mitigating the humiliating labours of such 'beasts of burden also called the lesser human beings'.

the visuals remind us of of many such 'children of lesser god' both old and new : kings and queens' palanquin bearers, the pedal rickshaw pullers of kolkata, the 'doliwalas' carrying the pilgrims, the wheel-chair pullers of jain sadhus and sadhvis, the 'kavadias' bringing gagangajal and finally the scavengers carrying excrement on their head!

let us hope, even such tiny efforts of photo-journalism can contribute in sensitising readers to think twice before trampling on anybody's human dignity and human rights?

let us thank the the blogger.

    By the way, nice pictures!
